Plant Healthy Fruit Trees - Saturday April 14th at 1p.m.
Early Spring is the perfect time to plant trees, and bare root stock is the easiest way to do it. If you've been dreaming of your own backyard fruit, now is the time to act! We've timed this class with the arrival of our bare root fruit trees chosen for their hardiness in our short season climate. Join master gardener Theresa Miller in the garden at Local 98856 in Twisp and learn the essentials of starting your trees out right!
Cost is $15 or FREE with the purchase of a bare root tree!
It's Nuts & Berries - Saturday May 5th at 1p.m.
Expand your taste by adding some new varieties of food producing bushes and shrubs to your garden spaces. Learn about the culture and care of gooseberries, currants, nanking cherries, hazelnuts, filberts and more! This class will be taught by owner and successful gardener Tess Hoke. And to help you get started, class participants will receive a 15% discount on fruiting shrubs purchased at the class.

Cool Container Gardens for the Summer Patio - Saturday May 19th at 1p.m.
Mix one part creativity with equal parts element and function and you'll have the right ingredients necessary for the patio container that says WOW! This class will take a step away from the traditional and encourage your use of funk, found objects, and one of a kind containers. We'll also open a new palate of plants and materials that will help make your container the centerpiece of your outdoor living spaces. This class is packed with tips and tricks for success!

Valentine's Day Dinner
Tuesday, February 14th at 7p.m.
Treat your Valentine to a meal full of Asian flavors served up by guest chef and cooking instructor Jean Wilson. The evening promises to be sweet and authentic with food and drink served at 7pm. Your seat at the table also supports the efforts of Red Shed, a program of Room One, providing free organic produce & basic cooking instruction to families in need in the Methow Valley. Additionally, to the efforts of Jean Wilson and the ongoing after school cooking classes at the Methow Valley Elementary School.

Join owner and successful gardener Tess Hoke in the Greenhouse at Local 98856 as she shares with you the secrets of growing garlic in the Methow. Fall is the time to plant, and this one and one-half hour demonstration class is packed with tips and information on the planting, tending, harvesting and curing of this favorite crop. Cold Noodles (Hiyashi Chuka): Cold chilled noodles topped with chicken or pork, slices of cucumber, carrot and egg crepe, garnished with green onions and pickled ginger - drizzled with a dressing of your choice, so good! In summer, this is the most popular dish in Japan. Will learn to use Chinese egg noodles, soba, udon and somen noodles. And learn to make three different dressings: sesame, soy sauce and spicy miso.
