2010 Schedule

Local Living Series Classes are held in the Greenhouse at Local 98856 in Twisp and are taught by owner Tess Hoke. Cost for all classes is $15 and includes class materials. Participants will leave with the knowledge necessary to insure the ultimate success of their garden efforts!


Saturday 3/27 from 10:00 - 11:30
From Seed to Garden - starting warm weather crops from seed. In this hands on class learn to start tomatoes, eggplant, peppers and basil from seed. All the steps, from variety selection to planting out in the garden. Includes instructional handouts, potting soil and planting containers for up to one complete flat of seeds.

Saturday 4/10 from 10:00 - 11:30
Growing the Basics - Planning and Planting a Successful Home Garden. Designed for both newcomers and oldtimers alike. This class will provide information on how to plan, plant and enjoy a simple and successful home garden. Participants will explore all aspects from site preparation through harvest.

Secrets in the Garden - Tips & tricks to maximize gardening success.

Saturday 5/8 from 10:00 - 11:30
Hanging Baskets & Patio Pots - Use thrillers, fillers and spillers to add color and splash.

Saturday 5/15 from 10:00 - 11:30
The Backyard Berry Patch - This class will focus on how to plant, tend and harvest strawberries & raspberries with tips for ensuring long-term production. Plants will be available for sale at a special 25% discount for class participants. This is a fun class!
